I'm Famous!

Seems my Human Zoo posts caught the eye of this columnist (read more about her here), who thinks I was an actual participant. That's hilarious!!! Read about my "experience" by clicking on the Human Zoo links in the Best Of Spinning Girl sidebar. Let's all laugh together! Ha ha ha ha haaaaaaaaaaaa!

Wait, that wasn't really you? I am hurt and shocked at the ruse you pulled on me. I thought for sure you were in London just before teaching in America.

And the woman says, ""I'm a Republican," she says, "but not a good Republican."

Warning: Debra J. Saunders may be stupid. Spinning Girl. Wow. I'm not worthy! You're a ruse within a ruse! Now go get yourself a back copy or two:

Q. Where can I purchase a back copy of the Chronicle?
A. The last 30 days of the Chronicle are available at the Classified Counter, which is located on the 5th Street side of the Chronicle building at the corner of 5th Street and Mission Street in San Francisco. There is a guard there who can direct you if necessary. Daily papers may be purchased for $0.25 and Sunday papers may be purchased for $1.50. To have a back copy mailed, the price is $2.00 for daily papers and $4.00 for Sunday papers. A check for the total amount may be mailed to SF Chronicle Back Copy Department, P. O. Box 7228, San Francisco, CA 94120. Please include a note which gives the date and number of the papers requested, and the address where the back copies should be send. Remember, only the past 30 days are available.

Copies of articles older than 30 days, but printed since January 1, 1995 are also available in the Chronicle archives on SFGATE.com.

WAIT A MINUTE!!!

I demand a straight answer. Were you, or were you not, in the Human Zoo project??? Because I distinctly remember detailed accounts. And if you were not, I just cannot believe that your ability to fool me is that accomplished.

Man.. while I'm a great fan of irony.. it's really only funny if you're in on the joke.

Ha ha! I know my nicknames for the other participants and the descriptions of our antics seemed real, but alas, HZ existed only in my mind.

Whoa. Snookered, big time. Well, at least I didn't write a column about it.

Well played, SG. :)

That is just priceless. The funniest thing is how she wrote "who calls herself Spinning Girl." You can almost see her looking down her nose at you. :)

Love to see people like that made to look like a fool. :)

Wow, way to go, SG!

That's hilarious. I was totally fooled, too, so...you know...it took me a minute to catch on.
What's really great is the columnist apparently DIDN'T see that you live in America
You ARE famous.
And now, you're NOTORIOUS!!

You had me fooled at first, too, but then I couldn't connect Conn. and UK and school starting... finally, I declared, "I knew all along!" though there was no one actually there to hear me.

Wait, are you Debra J. Saunders? is this a hoax within a hoax? Arg! Get out of my head!

Not quite sure why Debra Saunders comes in for such a roasting from the commenters. I was completely and utterly fooled and, not having any knowledge of SGs personal life, assumed she lived in London. How exactly would one know all of SGs life details unless one was a regular reader? I also thought DS was quite complimentary of SGs comment. In fact, she agreed and amplified the "stupid idea" remark. Don't really see where SG comes off any worse.

I agree with heresolong.
I did email Ms. Saunders to tell her I wasn't really at HZ, out of respect for her efforts.

That's hilarious. Congratulations on your new-found-fame, even if it is based on something spurious and silly. Hey, it worked for Ashlee Simpson.
