Observations Anonymous

Some readers of my blog insist on Anonymous commenting; I understand, for I too am a celebrity and need to protect my identity. But it leaves me little opportunity to respond, unless you plan to check back at your comment deep in my archives, which I doubt. Here then, is my reply to an Anonymous comment on my "Easy to Please" post. I recognize that these little snippets give only a portion of the whole story, the portion I want to share, or my version of it the way I want to remember it. Sometimes, the result is that I've painted a rather shallow picture of how the shit actually went down. Alas...so be it.

I'll never remain annonymous to such a fine blogger.

Hey, what's with the naked-at-the-zoo thing? Are you famous?

Anonymous people are just people who don't want to be known.

Huh?

Why did I just type that?

What grade/subject to you teach?

I came back and read your response, actually. Kudos to you for having some patience, since as I read my original comment, it's harsher than I meant. On the other hand, that's probably how your anecdote about Sven came to be the way it was, so I understand from that perspective. It just hit a hot button for me.

And I am a blogger user, so I could comment non-anonymously, but I blog about my professional world, so I have to be careful about associating that with my comments on unrelated blogs, especially personal ones. Cheers!

I hate anonymous comments!!! That's why I got rid of them on my blog.

They irk me.

I kinda like the anonymous comments (as long as they are not spam.) It's about the only time you are absolutly sure that the person really has something they want to say, and not just try to drum up traffic to their own blog.

When it gets down to it, a lot of us are stealth bloggers.

lookingbusy makes a good point; blog-pimping is annoying when the person obviously didn't even read my post; however, I do like when someone directs me to a relevant post of their own.

Big shout-out to "anonymous", whoever you are, for returning and responding with honesty and with respect for my position. You are my new best friend! Or...would be, if I knew you...ummm... anyhow, you have earned my respect with your integrity. And thanks for not hiding behind your anonymity to just call me a bitch and run away.

Babyjewels, thanks, and should I do a whole post about how vain I am about my own hair? The conceit is really pretty vomitous (bad hair history, now utterly fabu). Then I would really drive people away. Maybe mentioning it here was enough.

Oh, and Spinning Girl, thanks for the kind gesture towards Anonymous Folks. A lot of people pick on us, but a handful of us just like to stick to first names.
